Fifteen East Cheshire Ramblers recently enjoyed a 10 mile walk which started in the Tideswell and Tideslow book Derbyshire village of Tideswell. The village is one of the most ancient settlements in the central Peak District and was recorded in the Domesday Book.
However, Tideswell is perhaps best known for its magnificent 14th-century church. Beautiful Tideswell holiday cottages, choose from hundreds of great cottages and self-catering holiday accommodation in Tideswell and the surrounding Buxton & Bakewell and area area.

An ancient settlement, Tideswell is listed in the Domesday Book of where it referred to as 'Tidesuuelle' and recorded as the property of William Peverel, a Norman knight, who is suspected to be an illegitimate son of William the Conqueror and held vast estates in the area and occupied Peveril Castle at.
